Furry. Passion. Creativity.

Christmas_dresses2_2 I was born into a family of boys.  I had three brothers.  I enjoyed being the only girl, but once I had three girls, I realized nothing in my life experience had prepared me for this.

One of the funniest things people say to me and Rob when they first find out we have three girls is…."Oh, you are so lucky.  Boys are so much wilder and so much…well more of everything…"

I want to laugh in their face and dig up a few recent examples of the furry, creativity, and passion that build up in three little girls and how that all gets released sometimes.

Instead, I just politely smile and shake my head and say something cordial like "I am so sure you are right about that."

Then just smile to myself.

I saw your little beauties in the video at church tonight. People are wrong when they think all girls do is dress up and play dolls. They can be just as rowdy as boys and way more emotional. I am in the same boat as you…my girls are 8, 4, and 2.

What a great picture of your beautiful girls. They were so great in the video. I’ll have Albert put a DVD copy of the video in Rob’s mailbox for you!

Oh my gosh – where do they get the idea that girls are easier? Clearly their daughters have not yet achieved adolescence where the real fun begins. As the youngest of 7 girls (I have one brother, the youngest) and the mother of both a son and a daughter I can reliably say that I’d far rather raise a brood of boys!
