Did you ever sing that song,
“Oh be careful little eyes what you see
oh be careful little ears what you hear
For the Father up above is looking down below
So be careful little eyes what you see…”?
I’ve made up a new song
“Oh be careful little fingers what you blog
oh be careful little fingers what you blog
for the Father up above is looking down below
So be careful little fingers what you blog.”
I keep going back to Butch’s post about shooting arrows from afar. It was brilliant.
10 years ago we couldn’t write bad things about other Christians on the Internet. We just gossiped in our small circles. Our words hardly ever reached those we were gossiping about.
Now we blog.
The written word has power. Power to hurt, power to heal. Power to strengthen, power to deflate.
Be careful what you blog.
“I call Heaven and Earth to witness against you today: I place before you Life and Death, Blessing and Curse. Choose life so that you and your children will live. And love God, your God, listening obediently to him, firmly embracing him.” (Deuteronomy 30:19-20a)
