Joy Unspeakable

Whitney through the fence

Of all the photos we took while in India, this is one of them that won’t let me go.  I’m not even quite sure what it means, but if you look at Whitney’s hands reaching out to those girls…the joy on their faces, and the tenderness in her reach, there is something profound yet unspeakable there. I’ll be thinking about if for a long time to come.

Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors,  that the King of glory may come in.

Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

Lift up your heads, O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.

Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD Almighty— he is the King of glory. -Psalm 24:8-10

Wow this is a powerful photograph. I’ve been a lurker through your trip, it has been fascinating to follow. I can’t imagine how full your hearts must be.

Incredible! The silent softness in the touches can be felt! The looks in the eyes are telling!
