I found this info at www.followtherabbi.com, and thought I’d pass it along to you. To really immerse yourself into Passion week,

  • Print something like this list out and place it somewhere you’ll see throughout the day.
  • Revisit the days of Passion week in your mind and think about Jesus.
  • Read through the Gospel account of Passion week in your Bible.

Fix your eyes on Him.  Let His love for you fill you to overflowing this week.  It’s what I’m going to do, and hope you do as well.

This is all one more reason I miss being home.

Nothing of the resurrection or Easter Sunday is talked about here in Russia – even at the Baptist church we’ve been going to. This church is stuck in a “series” that seems to be bashing America for the complete sin of the world.

If you are a missionary here, you are seen as a cult-follower; the missionaries I know never say the “m” word out-loud for fear of being kicked out of the country.

In court, we were asked about out religious activities. We were advised to downplay our activity and not say anything about any mission work we had ever done.

To those at home: you have no idea how fortunate you are to live in a country where it’s OK to say you are a Christian, and be able to openly and cheerfully celebrate Easter!

Just read Kathy’s comment and immediately added MORE prayers to the ones I’ve been praying for her to come home soon–Easter without EASTER??? Unthinkable!!!

But my original reaction to your post my dear was that it’s a fantastic idea–and the icon of Jesus is beautiful–I will make a real effort to study this week!!!!

    Michelle,

Thanks for the reminder of what the last week of Jesus’ time here on earth was like! It’s so easy to just “go with the flow”, and not think about these things. Praise the Lord for His Life – AND His Death and Resurrection!

My granddaughter posts similar information on her blog.
