A Million Stories In A Day

Whitney and Maddie meeting some of the little girls from Kalavai

I couldn’t understand this little girl’s name, but her and Belle are kindred spirits.  They played together the whole time.  They were both equally silly and fun.  The little girl is 8, and Belle is 6.  Quite a difference in size!

Me and Miss Lilly.  I look like a towering giant compared to this giant in the faith.  Miss Lilly was the first and only Christian in her village.  She prayed and prayed for her village.  It is beyond my comprehension that because of her prayers, I am standing with her today.  Crazy.

Maddie fell in love with Chandra.  They were best buds all afternoon.

Whitney blew up around 20 beach balls for the children to decorate.  One little boy came back to her devastated that his had a hole in it.  Whit told me, “I was so sad for the boy, and I prayed to God to help me figure out how to help him.  God gave me the idea to put a sticker on the hole, and it fixed it!”  I have never been more proud of her.

Maddie took photos of all the children to make I.D. cards for them.  In India, if you have a legit I.D. card, you gain recognition and status.  Maddie made that possible for a few dozen girls today.  I could not be more proud of her.

We ended our time together with prayers and fireworks!  The children jumped for joy every time one went off.  I have to say, the sparkler thing made me a little nervous, but we only let the older kids have them.

I was kissed and hugged a million times before we left.  Kalavai is so close to my heart.  God truly resides with these broken, outcast people.  Being with them is a glimpse of Heaven on Earth.  It was a really great day.
