Best Birthday Party Ever

Belle's 7th Birthday Princess

Miss Isabelle turns 7 on December 30.  It’s taken us 7 years to realize that no one will come to a birthday party between Christmas and New Years.  She was so excited that all 5 of her little buddies came to her fabulous Gingerbread making party a few weeks prior to her actual birthday.

Why a gingerbread party?  A few weeks ago Whitney went to her pal Sophie’s house and made gingerbread houses that her mommy had made from scratch.  One look at that amazing candy-coated house and Belle said, “I’m having a gingerbread party!”  I got all excited, bought all the ingredients to make them from scratch, and almost as quickly realized it would be much easier just to buy the pre-made kits with the candy and frosting already in the box.

I bought all the kits from Walmart.  While I was shopping, I almost got my purse stolen by a team of purse snatching thieves.  I way outsmarted the robbers though. Growing up in Chicago certainly has its advantages.  I do have a 6th sense when bad guys or scammers are around.

I brought all the kits home, showed them to Isabelle, and she immediately burst into tears.  “But I wanted a Build A Bear party!” she wailed.  After promising to take her to Build A Bear for her real birthday, she got over her sorrow and got excited for her party.

The party went off without a hitch.  Maddie and Whitney were super helpful and loved every minute of it.  Belle’s friends were so proud of what they made.  Everyone got along great, and Belle was so, so happy.

I highly reccomend a gingerbread making party for any little girl who has a birthday around Christmas.  Just make sure you check the boxes for broken gingerbread houses more than 30 minutes before the party starts.
