Audrey was in 4th grade last Friday.  My girls saw her every day at school, and on the weekend at church.  They would smile and wave to her, and I was always amazed at what she did to soften my girl’s hearts.  Audrey was in a wheel chair and had many health issues that kept her there for much of her life.  Audrey died yesterday.  Pray for her family.  Pray for my girls, their teachers, and friends at Horizon Elementary school in Granger.  This is an enormous tragedy in their little lives.

I always encourage my girls to color or draw their feelings when something is beyond words for them.  Maddie drew this tonight and I gasped when I saw it.  She has amazing faith, and amazing love for this little girl.  Audrey

Before bed we talked about how Audrey had been blind, but when she opened her eyes for the first time, she saw Jesus.

I can almost see the smile on Jesus’s face when he welcomed this precious girl home.

Thank you for posting the picture Maddie drew…”out of the mouths of babes.” That’s why I love working with kids. They have a perspective we adults have lost. Audrey was also one of our kids who was part of All-STARS through our special friends ministry. Kids like Audrey are truly special…she’ll be missed.

  2. What a beautiful picture! Maddie is a wise girl, thanks to a great mom!
