Edit this Paragraph.

When reading a local news website today, I came across this paragraph.

Do not forget to change your clocks this on Sunday.

It is time to fall back with daylight savings time.

The “official” time to roll your clocks back an hour is at 1:59am Sunday morning.

But you can just change your clocks before going to bed.

Experts say it is also a great time to replace the batteries in your smoke detectors.

And take a fresh look at your family’s fire escape plan.

My girls get paragraphs like this sent home as homework to correct. Edit this paragraph correctly, and I will give you an “A+”  If you guess the local news website that ran this paragraph, you get extra credit.

I know it’s supposed to be daylight saving time and not savings, but I don’t know if that’s the mistake you are looking for!

  2. Matt Metzger says:

“clocks this on Sunday.” should be “clocks this Sunday”
“daylight savings time” should be “daylight saving time”
“But you can just change…” starts the sentence with an interjection. Probably just drop the “But”
“And take a fresh look…” starts the sentence with a conjunction. Perhaps it could have been combined with the previous sentence.
I’m hoping it wasn’t the SB Trib that ran this, so I’m guessing Elkhart Truth.

  3. that has to be wndu.

  4. Sandra gets a B for noticing the savings error
Matt gets an “A” and is oh, so close to an A+
Jason gets the bonus points for guessing the correct station.
Very well done my friends. I am truly proud.

I would tell and show my child the bad things about having a snake for a pet. First, I would tell my daughter that I love her and that I don’t want anything bad to happen to her. Next, I would tell her that snakes have deadly poison and if it bites, something terrible might happen. Then I will try to convince my child that a snake is not the best choice for a pet. Finally, I will prove to her that she should get a dog, cat, rabbit, parrot, hamster or a goldfish instead of a snake.
