Going Solo

I knew once she got up the courage, she would get it. On my Birthday, Belle decided she was ready. Rob put her on Whitney’s old bike, gave her a little coaching, and she was off!  I’m so proud of Belle. She has a fierce determination to do whatever is in front of her with passion and gusto.

I’ll admit, it also made me slightly sad to see her take off for the first time. No more training wheels, all day school, these little changes meaning more and more independence for her–She doesn’t need her Mama as much anymore.  Of course it’s the way it’s supposed to be, but I just sometimes wish we could hang on to these times a little longer. I guess that’s what memories are for.

I am definitely looking forward to bike rides as a family. We ride bikes all summer long, and are so excited that we can all do it together now.  If you see us out around town, I’ll be the one trying to keep up with everyone else.  🙂

It is bittersweet, indeed. Baylee goes into kindergarten next year. I am excited for the transition but at the same time, not quite ready to give it all up. Sometimes I even find myself missing the toddler days when we would watch horrible shows like Dora. Sweet, sweet memories….Great job, Belle!

I haven’t blogged or read blogs in a looooooong time so I’m catching up tonight, at least on the reading thing. I like your new look over here too. I’m thinking about going private or getting a new site. Too many creepers from the past that I knew used to read my blog that I don’t associate with anymore that probably still read my blog. And if I don’t like them enough to talk to them, I surely don’t want them sharing in my life. IDK why I’m sharing all this with you…I guess I’m bored. haha. But what I meant to say was, GO BELLE GO!!
