You go through your every day life and never consider how your shower works, or why people talk to small strange boxes then drive
You never think that getting a pedicure is a completely unknown and foreign experience.
You never consider that riding in a car is a horrifying experience if the driver is a woman and you have only ever had male drivers in your entire life.
You never think about the grass growing under you if you have always felt rough stones under your feet.
That’s why I love walking around with Prema for her first visit in the U.S.A. Showing her a world of “firsts” has been a lot of fun.
I tried to explain what a hot dog was to her today at Belle’s preschool picnic. She gave me a blank stare. I never thought about how gross hot dogs were until today. Rolled up meat? Ick.
I love the perspective being with Prema gives me on my every day world. Utterly fascinating.
