Standing beside these beautiful women is one of the greatest honors of my life. I am so grateful to God for allowing me to see a dream fulfilled this side of Heaven by bringing some hope, some encouragement, some of God’s spirit to the darkest places.
When I was sweating to death in Kalavai, walking around from here to there, I thought to myself, “My favorite Me is when I am with them”. I know that sounds strange, but I know down to my toes that walking among the poor is where I am meant to be. When my girls and husband go with me to these places, I feel like I am missing nothing, and I am totally “in the zone”.
When I say, I am bringing them hope, I am not saying it is by anything I am doing. God is alive and at work in the places we have visited. Nothing I do or don’t do can change that. My job is to tell their stories, so women like Miss Lily, Manju, and others are encouraged and don’t feel so alone. Giving a voice to these women who have no voice…that is the greatest honor of my life so far, outside of being married to Rob and having 3 amazing girls of my own.
I’m not packing up and moving to India, but my heart is there. My thoughts go there frequently throughout the day. I’m giving what I can when I can to beautiful women like you see above.
