So Thankful

This summer we had a Blom family reunion. Sounds exciting, I know, but it was really something. My mom is the oldest of 4 sisters. All of my Aunts are 6ft tall or taller. Somehow the "tall" gene skipped me and my mom. Hanging out with the cousins, aunts, uncles, new babies, etc. was almost as near to Heaven as I think we will get on this side of eternity. Every single one of the adults at the gathering loves Jesus with all their hearts. All of my aunts and uncles, my 3 brothers and their wives…everyone. My Aunt and Uncle lived in Sabah, Malaysia for 22 years. They worked with Wycliffe Bible Translators and wrote down a language for a people that have only spoken it for thousands of years. Not only that, they gave this people group something they never had, the Word of God. My brother Mark and his wife Abbey are home from the Philipines for a few months. They serve missionaries there by teaching and educating their children at Faith Academy. During the reunion, I walked to the car to get something, turned around, and suddenly got this total "outsiders" perspective to the whole event. It was a treasure to me. Everyone standing there all at once. Just talking and hanging out. There was something eternal about us all being there together. All at once I felt God’s deep blessing on this family. I am so thankful to have been raised in a family of world changers for Jesus.
