At Granger Community Church, are in the middle of a series called, The Thing From Another Planet. It’s a series about parenting and we are using the "B" Movie theme. It’s been a fun ride so far, but it has also really helped me and Rob re-evaluate our own parenting style. Rob is teaching this weekend, and I’m looking forward to it. We’ve had lots of our own discussions about how we parent our own kids. Sure, he’s the preacher, and I’m his wife, but we’re still in the middle of trying to figure all this out. The trick is, that no one has ever had a family just like ours! No one else has ever lived in our neighborhood in Granger, In., with 3 girls, ages 9, 7, and 3. We are a unique family, just as yours is. Every family is different, and every family needs to figure out "what works" for them to function as a healthy family. Both Rob and I are so thankful that we come from families that chose to stick it out, and not divorce, as so many of our friend’s families did while we were growing up. We learned so much from our own parents because of this. Over the next few days, I plan on posting a few different thoughts about what Rob and I have learned this past 10 years or so in this first run of parenting as a team. So, check back later when I have a chance to sort out some more thoughts between watching Ariel, playing Cinderella, and folding laundry.
