Arrival in Chennai

30 hours of travel in economy class can be rough on one’s being.  On both flights, the person in front of me had their seat reclined all the way as far as it could go back, so they were literally in my lap.  One man kept stretching his arms back and covering my t.v. screen with his long arms.  I so wanted to get a picture of it, but I literally could not move to reach down to the floor to get my iPhone out of my back pack.  On top of the people laying in my lap for 30 hours, there were 2 babies that screamed and cried THE WHOLE TIME.  And, by that I mean, THE WHOLE TIME.

In spite of all of this, the girls did amazingly well.  We slept on and off in spurts for 10-15 minutes at a time.  Greeting Raj, Prema, their family, and the rest of our India friends at the airport was the best part of our journey.  They gave us  wonderful Jasmine and Rose flower necklaces that smelled amazing.  Good thing, because we were all pretty stinky after travelling so long.

We are quite zombie-like today, as we got to our motel at 5:30am.  On our way to our room, we passed a rat eating his early breakfast out of a trash can.  When we opened the window to our room, we saw 3 cows staring back at us.  We love India, because it is never boring!

Rob and I are off to interview our first pastor for the book we are working on.  Pray for us, that we work well as a team, and can think through the jet-lag haze.  Thanks so much for your prayers and support.  It truly means the world to us.  We are depending on your prayers for our strength.

You made it! Excellent. I love the flower necklaces. I did not know this was a tradition outside of Hawaii. Have a wonderful visit!

Glad to hear you made it there safely! What is with people not being considerate with those behind them. Did they not know that they were “invading” your space? Geez. Looking forward to your blogs as you continue on with this journey.
